Its core objectives are to foster higher‑education opportunities for overseas learners within Nanjing, boost the city’s global educational reputation, and build Nanjing into a desirable study destination for international candidates. Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) is one of the participating higher‑education institutions administering this partial‑grant scholarship. Authorized by the Nanjing Municipal Government, NAU selects high‑caliber overseas students and scholars to pursue both degree‑seeking and non‑degree academic programs.
Funding Benefits
This is a partial scholarship with fixed annual grants categorized by student type:
- Graduate students: CNY 20,000 per academic year
- Undergraduate students: CNY 10,000 per academic year
- Non‑degree students: CNY 5,000 per academic year
Scholarship tenure covers one full academic year.

Eligible Majors
All postgraduate programs offered at NAU are open for this scholarship application. Programs run by the College of Foreign Languages are excluded from eligibility.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants shall hold non‑Chinese citizenship and maintain good physical health.
- Academic prerequisites together with age restrictions:
- Bachelor’s program applicants: Hold a high‑school graduation diploma and be under 28 years of age.
- Master’s program applicants: Possess a valid bachelor’s degree and be no older than 35.
- Doctoral program applicants: Hold a master’s degree and be below 40 years old.
- Candidates are expected to maintain outstanding academic performance.
- Applicants need to demonstrate solid capacity for scientific research.
Language Proficiency Requirements
Chinese‑Taught Programs
Candidates must attain HSK Level 5 or higher.
English‑Taught Programs
Satisfy any one of the following requirements:
- Be a citizen of an English‑speaking country; OR
- Complete no less than one year of discipline‑related academic study in English‑speaking territories; OR
- Submit valid language test scores: IELTS score ≥6.0, or TOEFL score ≥70.
