国籍与身份｜Nationality and Identity
申请人须为非中国籍公民，持有效外国普通护照，且身体健康、品行端正，愿意遵守中国法律法规及学校规章制度。对于原为中国公民后加入外国国籍者，部分高校会进行国籍状况预审。
Applicants shall be non‑Chinese citizens holding valid ordinary foreign passports, in good physical health and of good moral conduct, and willing to abide by Chinese laws, regulations and university rules. For applicants who were formerly Chinese citizens and later acquired foreign nationality, some universities will conduct a pre‑review of nationality status.
学历要求｜Academic Requirements
须已获得学士学位或同等学力，且学习成绩优秀。应届本科毕业生通常可在入学前补交学位证书，但申请时需提供预计毕业证明。
Applicants shall hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent academic qualification with excellent academic records. Fresh undergraduate graduates may generally submit their degree certificate before enrolment, and a proof of expected graduation shall be provided at the time of application.
年龄限制｜Age Restrictions
中国政府奖学金硕士申请者的年龄一般不超过35周岁。自费申请者的年龄限制则相对宽松，部分院校可放宽至40周岁甚至更高。
Master applicants for Chinese Government Scholarship shall generally be no older than 35 years of age. Self‑funded applicants face relatively relaxed age restrictions; some universities extend the limit to 40 years old or even higher.
语言能力｜Language Proficiency
中文授课项目：通常要求HSK四级（中国政府奖学金基本要求）或HSK五级。若前置学历使用中文教学，可申请免交HSK成绩。
Chinese‑taught Programs: HSK Level‑4 (basic requirement for Chinese Government Scholarship) or HSK Level‑5 is generally required. Applicants whose previous education was delivered in Chinese may apply for HSK score exemption.
英文授课项目：需提供雅思、托福等有效英语水平证明，常见要求为雅思6.0分或托福80分以上。母语为英语的申请者通常可免于提供。
English‑taught Programs: Valid English‑proficiency certificates such as IELTS or TOEFL are required. Common thresholds are IELTS 6.0 or above, or TOEFL 80 or above. Native‑English‑speaking applicants are normally exempted from submitting such certificates.
品行与健康｜Conduct and Health
申请人须无违法犯罪记录，并提交有效期内的无犯罪记录证明。健康方面，须无传染病及影响正常学习的身体或精神疾患。来华学习超过6个月者，需提交《外国人体格检查表》。
Applicants shall have no criminal record and submit a valid police clearance certificate. For health conditions, applicants shall be free from infectious diseases as well as physical or mental disorders that may interfere with regular study. Those studying in China for more than six months must submit the Foreigner’s Physical Examination Record.
中国政府奖学金额外要求｜Additional Requirements for Chinese Government Scholarship

推荐信：须提交两名教授或副教授的推荐信。
Reference Letters: Reference letters from two professors or associate professors shall be submitted.
学习/研究计划：研究生须提交不少于800字的学习或研究计划。
Study / Research Proposal: Postgraduate applicants shall submit a study or research proposal of no less than 800 words.
自费申请者注意事项｜Notes for Self‑funded Applicants
自费申请者无需经过奖学金评审，但需自行承担全部学费、生活费、住宿费及医疗保险等费用，并通常需提供资金证明。部分院校对自费生的年龄限制更为宽松。
Self‑funded applicants do not go through scholarship evaluation, but shall bear all expenses including tuition fees, living costs, accommodation and medical insurance, and are generally required to provide proof of financial resources. Many universities apply more lenient age rules for self‑funded students.
